They're doing a 50s thing. Poodle skirts and greasers. She was talking about how we could be cute as Tarzan and Jane.

[She gives a slight laugh to that]

Or we could do Antony and Cleopatra. Unless you want to be a gangster having his lady on his arm.

...yeah, I'm not going out in a loincloth. [He says that with a laugh, absently scratching his nose.] And I dunno if I could pull off a gangster--I mean, you're the weapons person.

Antony and Cleopatra could be fun? I mean, you'd look hot...and I wouldn't have to be running around in my underwear?

[Suddenly his eyes widen with a grin.]

Dude, wait! What about Robin Hood and Maid Marion? Only, y'know, with a butt-kicking Marion who can shoot a bow?

[She tries not to laugh at his reaction to the whole thing about the loincloth.]

[Though when his eyes widen she can't help but grin]

I like that idea better. Robin Hood and Maid Marion. Only you know... one that can kick Robin Hood's ass.

Only doesn't actually kick his ass, 'cause she loves him and stuff.

[He says it without a single shred of expectation or pressure, merely smiling at her with the innocent adoration that comes to him naturally.

Because he still loves her. He'll never stop...and he knows, in her own time, she'll be able to let herself love him the way she used to. He just...has to be patient.]

[She gives a smile and shakes her head]

[It took a lot for her to admit she was wrong about someone. After her talk with Allison and seeing how upset he'd been after her client went overboard...she could see she'd made a mistake. Her head was lowered as she contacted Scott, thoroughly ashamed as she thought through the time she's known him.]

I'm sorry. I haven't been fair to you and I see now that I made a big mistake. I know I probably can't make it up to you, but I'd like to try.

[When he gets the message and listens to Glimmer, all Scott can do is regard her with an expression that's a mixture of puppyish confusion and mild concern. She...seems okay, but he's not sure what brought this on. He just wants to make sure that she's okay, and that this sudden attack of contrition isn't the result of another client getting rough, or someone upsetting her needlessly.

Maybe it's just a sign of growth, however...and if it is, Scott wants to make sure she knows how proud he is of her.

So, when she's done, his features melt into a small, but gentle and genuinely fond smile as he shakes his head slightly.]

You don't have to make anything up to me, Glimmer. The only things I want from you are the things you want for yourself. [He shrugs a little, one corner of his mouth lifting a little higher.]

You're a good person. You're strong, you're brave, you're really smart...and you want to be more than the things your world taught you that you could be, because you know you're better than that. [Whimpering in the back of her throat, she curls in on herself a little more. Damn him for being so understanding...she could handle yelling and even being hit, it was what she was used to, she was still adjusting to genuine kindness though.]

I don't know how to handle someone being this nice sometimes and I lash out...I was so sure you were getting ready to kick me out, that you didn't think I was worth the trouble. Seeing how upset you were when you saw how rough my client got though, it made me see that you really...aren't like my mentors. You would have cared if he took things too far.

He sets that thought aside for the moment, and frowns to himself for a second. He can't stand to see her get even more upset, and it seems like it's not helping for him to take care of her. She said it herself: she's not used to kindness.

So he has to figure something out. For her sake.]

Though he does think of something else more productive and perks a little.]

Plus? You and me can go for a run a couple nights a week. So you can nail complete control. So you don't have to stay at the asylum anymore.

...He wasn't supposed to take it that far, couldn't have paid enough for that. He was allowed to choke me, but not to where I blacked out. I could have fought him, probably could have broke free if I tried harder. All I felt though, once the panic was gone, was relief. I was scared I was losing the pack, losing you, I didn't want to go through that again. [For that moment, she thought she'd sooner die than lose everything again.]

I'd like that. Both. Never really been around a cow before though.

...And if I never have to go back the the asylum, I'd appreciate it so much.

[A beat, and though he's still gentle, this time he's a little more stern. Partly for her benefit, but mostly because this much is law in his eyes, it's absolute fact.

And as for me? Unless you stand in front of me, and tell me to my face that you don't want to be in this pack anymore, you will never lose it. Or me. Unless you say otherwise, I will always be your Alpha, and whether you like it or not? I'll always be your friend. Got it?

[Smirking, she nodded with a chuckle.]

Yeah, I'm...I'm getting that. I just worry that I mess up sometimes. I'm trying, but Peter was particular about rules and I remember what you said about hurting people in town.

If you mess up? You can fix it. And if something happens, and someone does get hurt? Just talk to me. If it was an accident or justified, we'll get through it.

...that's another thing you can do if you wanna make stuff up to me. Work on talking to me if you're not sure about something, or if you have a problem. I promise you, I'll never get mad as long as you're open and honest about stuff.

You're not out of line at all, Glimmer. You did the right thing--and I'll be aware of that. Maybe talk to her, see if I can figure out whether or not it's serious...and we'll warn the rest of the pack just to be careful.
